ABOUT THE RINK

The River Mill Skating Rink is no ordinary rink — it's the heart of a winter extravaganza!

​

The rink is open daily (weather permitting) all winter long. The rink will not be monitored - use at your own risk.

​

After the sun sets, River Mill Park will be bathed in twinkling lights, with a crackling fire and seasonal music creating a festive atmosphere. The result? An unforgettable nighttime skating experience that will have you coming back for more. Nighttime skating is open nightly from 5-9pm (weather permitting).

The River Mill Skating Rink is maintained and monitored on a daily basis. Ice surfaces will be closed if conditions are unsafe for users. Please keep off closed ice surfaces and obey all posted signage. Your safety is our concern but your responsibility use ice surfaces at your own risk and be safe.

 

*Some public and/or private events may temporarily change the availability of the skating rink to the public.

Rules of the Rink

​

  • CSA approved hockey helmets are strongly recommended for skaters’ protection. Bike helmets do not provide adequate protection.

  • Please stay off the ice rink while the ice resurfacing machine maintains the ice.

  • The carrying of an infant on the ice is not permitted at any time.

  • There will be no on-ice staff monitoring the ice surface.

  • Users may use skating aids on ice.

  • No food or beverage is permitted on the ice.

  • Smoking is not permitted on the ice.

  • Items not permitted on ice include, but are not limited to:

    • Hockey sticks

    • Pucks

    • Balls

    • Ringette rings of any kind

    • Toboggans

    • Sleighs or sleds

    • Wagons

    • Baby carriers or strollers

    • Shoes or boots

  • You are responsible for any damage you cause to the property.

  • Skating or acting in a manner that endangers or interferes with other skaters’ safety or pleasure is not permitted. Skate at your own risk.

  • Supervision of children under the age of 12 is strongly recommended. Abusive language and aggressive behavior are not permitted. Be respectful and responsible.

  • Report any vandalism to the Huntsville/Lake of Bays Chamber of Commerce at 705-789-4771. Report serious misconduct to the police.

USE OF THE RIVER MILL SKATING RINK IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. BY ENTERING THE ICE SURFACE AREA, YOU AGREE TO HOLD THE HUNTSVILLE/LAKE OF BAYS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND THEIR RESPECTIVE AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, CONTRACTORS, ASSIGNS, ADVERTISERS AND REPRESENTATIVES (COLLECTIVELY, THE “RELEASEES”) HARMLESS AND FREE FROM ANY LIABILITY WHATSOEVER ARISING FROM OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE RIVER MILL SKATING RINK.
